RCM Rockwell Revisits Payatas Community Library

Members of the Rotary Club of Makati Rockwell revisited, on July 6, 2008, Payatas 13 in Quezon City, where the club has organized a library known as the SIGA Center Community Library.

Launched on February 13 this year, during the term of Sharing President Elynn Gorra, the library was a joint project of the Payatas 13 residents, who refurbished an existing center, and RC Makati Rockwell, which donated shelves and books. A grant from District 3830 was used to purchase children’s books for the library.

On this recent visit, RC Makati Rockwell donated more books and an electric fan to the library. The club plans to continue its partnership with Payatas 13 and support to the SIGA Center Community Library through sponsorship of lectures, book-reading and other activities appealing to children and young people.
